ZEBRYLON 80/20: Approximately 100g/438yds 80/20 superwash Merino wool/nylon. This is a fun fingering/sock base, a 2-ply spin with portions in black wool, for a barber pole or marled effect along the yardage.
These were kettle-dyed a bright mottled pink/magenta/hot pink using all my bright pink dyes. Then they were speckled with fuchsia, hot pink, bordeaux, yellow, red, caramel and a bit of grey. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. This is a highly variegated, bright colourway and each hank is slightly different. Oink Ponk you ask? My two most common typos when I am writing “pink” ;)
This is a squishy, smooshy (but tough!) yarn, great for just about any fingering weight project you can think of. It is perfect for next-to-skin items and baby garments. With the tight, 2-ply twist and nylon content, it’s great for socks and the black/grey in the base offers interesting pooling. It’s surprisingly soft and plain fun to knit with.
While this is superwash treated, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
