BLUEBELLE Fingering: Approximately 100g/438 yards superwash Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) wool. This is a fine, strong four-plied fingering/sock weight yarn.
These were kettle-dyed a bright mottled pink/magenta/hot pink using all my bright pink dyes. Then they were speckled with fuchsia, hot pink, bordeaux, yellow, red, caramel and a bit of grey. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. This is a highly variegated, bright colourway and each hank is slightly different. Two socks knit from the same hank will not be identical. Oink Ponk you ask? My two most common typos when I am writing “pink” ;) A different base may be pictured but reasonably represents the colourway.
This BFL is soft and just a little plump, with all the known and desired qualities of the fibre: hard-wearing, tends not to pill, appears almost luminescent and continues to soften over time. This spin is airy and slightly crisp, with generous yardage for shawls, accessories and garments.
While this is superwash treated, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
