BLUEBELLE Fingering: Approximately 100g/438 yards superwash Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) wool. This is a fine, strong four-plied fingering/sock weight yarn.
These were kettle-dyed an ever-so-slightly tonal pale warm beige/ecru with just a hint of a blush. Many bases are pictured to show variations. BFL is a slightly buttery-coloured base to begin with and dye strikes FAST, so these have the colour concentrated in one area a bit more than usual.
This BFL is soft and just a little plump, with all the known and desired qualities of the fibre: hard-wearing, tends not to pill, appears almost luminescent and continues to soften over time. This spin is airy and slightly crisp, with generous yardage for shawls, accessories and garments.
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
