ZEBRYLON 80/20: Approximately 100g/438yds 80/20 superwash Merino wool/nylon. This is a fun fingering/sock base, a 2-ply spin with portions in black wool, for a barber pole or marled effect along the yardage.
These were kettle-dyed with washes of teal, spruce, green and navy then lightly speckled with chartreuse, teal, green and grey. This is a somewhat variegated colourway so please alternate hanks if using more than one and a uniform fabric is desired - each hank is slightly different, as is each batch of this colourway. The base is marled black and grey with the white prior to dyeing.
This is a squishy, smooshy (but tough!) yarn, great for just about any fingering weight project you can think of. It is perfect for next-to-skin items and baby garments. With the tight, 2-ply twist and nylon content, it’s great for socks and the black/grey in the base offers interesting pooling. It’s surprisingly soft and plain fun to knit with.
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
