MERYLON 70/30 SOCK: Approximately 100g/437yds 70/30 superwash Merino wool/nylon, 4 plies.
These were dyed a slightly tonal berry-ish pink in a crowded pot, so the coverage is inconsistent and a bit tonal. There is a very tiny amount of speckling with hot pink and strawberry, it’s barely noticeable. Two socks knit with the same hank won’t be identical, though very similar.
This is a perfect base for sock-knitting and I have that in mind when dyeing colourways - I have a limited supply and intend to keep the colourways fun and colourful. The high nylon content and slightly higher micron count of the Merino (a bit less soft but sturdier), as well as generous yardage ensures this base is good not only for a pair of adult socks but probably some extra heels and toes, too. It's not as soft as my Merylon 75/25 base but smoother and softer than Tufflon.
While this is superwash treated, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
