POLLY 4-PLY: Approximately 100g/438 yards superwash Polwarth wool. This is fingering/sock weight yarn; a fine, strong four-ply base.
These were kettle-dyed a tonal ecru/blush then speckled with teal, turquoise, gold, ochre and 2 spots of vermillion. Note this batch is more golden yellow than previous ones (used a different yellow dye). Though they share the same colours each is unique.
Polwarth is a breed of sheep that is 75% Merino crossed with Lincoln. This is a lustrous, soft, sturdy yarn, shiny and slightly "crisp". It drinks up colour in the dyepot!
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
