MERIYAK LUX: Approximately 100g/438 yards 65/20/15 superwash Merino wool/silk/yak. This is a luxurious 3-ply fingering weight yarn, medium-grey/brown when it’s undyed.
These were kettle-dyed a tonal medium neutral grey then speckled with grey, black and a bit of very dark brown. The hanks were twisted prior to speckling so coverage is relatively consistent. Regardless, this is a highly variegated colourway and each hank and batch is slightly different. Two socks knit with the same hank may not be identical. Please alternate hanks if using more than one. The overall colourway is a warmer grey (a bit like “Charred”) and less tonal because of the undyed base colour.
This is a buttery soft, truly sumptuous yarn with great stitch definition, which makes just about any project extra-gorgeous. It’s wonderful next-to-skin and it has lovely smoosh, drape and is silky soft and shiny. The base is medium-grey-brown to begin with so colourways dye a little darker and deeper than on ivory bases.
Despite its superwash designation, PLEASE hand wash in cool water and air dry flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
