MERINOH! WORSTED: Approximately 115g/210 yards/192 meters superwash Merino wool. This is a 4-ply worsted weight yarn. This is a new base from a local mill which will be replacing my other worsted bases.
These were kettle-dyed a mottled tonal medium caramel-brown and speckled with cobalt, teal, turquoise, violet and a tiny bit of lime green. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. They are highly variegated and should be alternated if more than one is used. There is a lot of green and less white in this batch. These more randomly dyed colourways vary from batch to batch and from hank to hank within a batch. Other batches are pictured to show variations.
This is a lovely, sturdy base which would be excellent for just about any knit or crocheted item and is next-to-skin soft. I envision it as a cozy hat or scrunchy cowl, baby sweater or big cardigan - you?
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
