MERYLON 75/25 SOCK BLANK: Approximately 100g/463yds 75/25 superwash Merino wool/nylon in a single-knit sock blank. This is an excellent offering of the ubiquitous 75/25 fine fingering/sock yarn that is so useful and versatile.

This was first dyed a light tonal turquoise then folded and tied and dyed with teal, navy, navy, slate and turquoise. It’s all shades of blue. The pictures aren’t great - the yellow cast is hard to get rid of with all the blues 😩

Sock blanks are dyed individually and each is one of a kind. My intention is that each half of the blank is a mirror image lengthwise so it’s possible to knit 2 socks that are very similar. The last picture is there to show how a similarly-dyed blank knits up in a plain sock pattern ~ IT IS NOT THE ITEM FOR SALE.

**TO KNIT IDENTICAL TWIN SOCKS: knit the first sock directly from blank. Cake remainder of the blank and knit the second sock starting from the outside of the cake. For two-at-a-time identical twins cake the entire blank and knit one sock from the outside of the cake and the other from the middle.

**TO KNIT FRATERNAL TWIN SOCKS knit both socks directly from the blank one after the other. For two-at-a-time fraternal twins cut the blank in half and knit directly from the blank at the marked start and the cut side of the second half.

This is a lovely, soft (but tough!) yarn, great for just about any fingering weight project. It is perfect for next-to-skin items and baby garments. If you knit socks tightening the gauge slightly will ensure iron-like wear.

While this is superwash treated, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
