ZEBRYLON 80/20: Approximately 100g/438yds 80/20 superwash Merino wool/nylon. This is a fun fingering/sock base, a 2-ply spin with portions in black wool, for a barber pole or marled effect along the yardage.
These were kettle-dyed a mottled tonal grey and speckled with purple, brown, yellow, red and gold. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. This is a highly variegated colourway and each hank is slightly different. These more randomly dyed colourways vary from batch to batch and from hank to hank within a batch. This is a highly variegated colourway and each hank is slightly different. While all hanks share the same colours, each is unique so please alternate hanks if using more than one. Two socks knit from one hank will not be identical.
This is a squishy, smooshy (but tough!) yarn, great for just about any fingering weight project you can think of. It is perfect for next-to-skin items and baby garments. With the tight, 2-ply twist and nylon content, it’s great for socks and the black/grey in the base offers interesting pooling. It’s surprisingly soft and plain fun to knit with.
While this is superwash treated, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
