ZEBRYLON 80/20: Approximately 100g/438yds 80/20 superwash Merino wool/nylon. This is a fun fingering/sock base, a 2-ply spin with portions in black wool, for a barber pole or marled effect along the yardage.
These were kettle-dyed a pale, tonal antique or dusty pink/rose with beige undertones and approaching mauve in places. Occasionally there is the odd, tiny purple fleck. It’s the base colour of Sophrosyne before speckling.
Susurrus is a colourway “built” from many layers and tiny amounts of dye, which makes each batch slightly different - more so depending on the base. Some are more pink and others tend toward mauve. Pure merino fingering base is also pictured to show variations.
This is a squishy, smooshy (but tough!) yarn, great for just about any fingering weight project you can think of. It is perfect for next-to-skin items and baby garments. With the tight, 2-ply twist and nylon content, it’s great for socks and the black/grey in the base offers interesting pooling. It’s surprisingly soft and plain fun to knit with.
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
