POLLY 4-PLY: Approximately 100g/438 yards superwash Polwarth wool. This is fingering/sock weight yarn; a fine, strong four-ply base.
These were dyed using specklng only with pretty much all my medium to light greens plus a bit of yellow. They are uneven and inconsistent and there is a lot of white as well as bleed-through occasional tan areas from dye breaking. Note that these are highly variegated and hanks from the same batch may be quite different in both intensity and tone even though they all share the same colours.
Polwarth is a breed of sheep that is 75% Merino crossed with Lincoln. This is a lustrous, soft, sturdy yarn, shiny and slightly "crisp". It drinks up colour in the dyepot!
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
