POLLY 4-PLY: Approximately 100g/438 yards superwash Polwarth wool. This is fingering/sock weight yarn; a fine, strong four-ply base.

These were kettle dyed a mottled tonal lime/chartreuse/avocado and speckled with yellow, gold, green, orange, teal, fuchsia-purple and hot pink. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. They are highly variegated and should be alternated if more than one is used. This is an especially “fresh” batch with lots of colour! These more randomly dyed colourways vary from batch to batch and from hank to hank within a batch.

Polwarth is a breed of sheep that is 75% Merino crossed with Lincoln. This is a lustrous, soft, sturdy yarn, shiny and slightly “crisp”. It is not as soft as Merino and a little more toothy. It drinks up colour in the dyepot!

While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
