MERINOH! 4-Ply: Approximately 100g/438 yards superwash merino wool. This is fingering/sock weight yarn; a fine, soft four-ply base.
These were kettle-dyed In a crowded pot first a pale golden brown then a medium cool brown and finally a medium bright purple. They were finished with a bit of brown, caramel and violet speckles. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. This is a highly variegated colourway and each hank is slightly different. While all hanks share the same colours, each is unique so please alternate hanks if using more than one. These more randomly dyed colourways vary from batch to batch and from hank to hank within a batch. This is like a cross between Sabelle and Hullabaloo.
This base is a lovely, soft, sturdy, tightly twisted yarn, slightly shiny and with good stitch definition. If you like the Merylon 75/25 fingering but want a pure Merino option, this is the one.
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
