MERIBELLA 70/30 Fingering Singles: Approximately 100g/438 yards 70/30 superwash Merino wool/silk. This is a luxurious singles light fingering yarn.
These were kettle-dyed with washes of red, fuchsia, coppery brown and navy blue with the yarn crowded in the pot so it’s mottled and variegated. Finally, they were glazed in a big twist with a dark blue-black wash. I used the same colours as Bluebeard at Night but a totally different method. Note that these hanks are slightly variegated and each is different though they share the same colours. The pictures are of a different base but reasonable depict the colourway. You may want to alternate hanks if used together.
This is a sleek, soft, light fingering singles with a fairly tight twist. This yarn is quite fine and won’t plump much more with blocking. It will make a lovely shawl, scarf or swingy cardi, but it would be good for just about anything fine-gauged, worn next to the skin. It has lovely drape, is silky soft and shiny. Over time it will develop a very slight halo.
While this is superwash, it’s a luxury base and I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
