MERIBELLA 75/25 Fingering Singles: Approximately 100g/438 yards 75/25 superwash fine Merino wool/silk. This is a luxurious singles light fingering yarn. (Basically identical to my previous 70/30 blend - less silk but finer Merino.)
These were kettle-dyed In a crowded pot first a pale golden brown then a medium cool brown and finally a medium bright purple. They were finished with a bit of brown, caramel and violet speckles. The hanks are not twisted prior to speckling so coverage is more random. This is a highly variegated colourway and each hank is slightly different. While all hanks share the same colours, each is unique so please alternate hanks if using more than one. These more randomly dyed colourways vary from batch to batch and from hank to hank within a batch. This is like a cross between Sabelle and Hullabaloo. Different batches are shown to illustrate variations.
This is a sleek, soft, light fingering singles with a fairly tight twist. This yarn is quite fine and won’t plump much more with blocking. It will make a lovely shawl, scarf or swingy cardi, but it would be good for just about anything fine-gauged, worn next to the skin. It has lovely drape, is silky soft and shiny. Over time it will develop a very slight halo.
While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
