MERYLON 75/25: Approximately 100g/463yds 75/25 superwash Merino wool/nylon. This is an excellent offering of the ubiquitous 75/25 fine fingering/sock yarn that is so useful and versatile.
These were dyed using speckling only, with the hanks twisted consistently and using all my reds: vermilion, apple, cherry, mahogany, bordeaux, Turkey. They are highly variegated with a lot of pink bleed-through and the odd spot of yellow, violet and blue from colours breaking. Each hank and each batch is different so please alternate if more than one is used. Two socks knit with the same hank may not be identical.
This is a lovely, soft (but tough!) yarn, great for just about any fingering weight project you can think of. It is perfect for next-to-skin items and baby garments. If you knit socks tightening the gauge slightly will ensure iron-like wear.
While this is superwash treated, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture and maximum gorgeousness.
