PACABELLA FINGERING: Approximately 100g/438 yards 70/30 Baby Alpaca/silk. This is a 4-ply fingering weight yarn.
These were kettle-dyed a tonal light brown base then twisted and glazed with medium grey. Finally, they were speckled with brown, grey and a little black. Note that these hanks are variegated and each is different though they share the same colours.
Soft, shiny and gorgeous! Baby alpaca and mulberry silk combined in a beautiful, dense fingering base with sheen from the silk and a slight halo from the alpaca. It’s warm, soft and strong - a round string with very little “smoosh” but loads of slink and drape. Note that alpaca bases tend to be just a little less saturated colour-wise and produce a fabric with little memory.
Please hand wash in cool water and air dry flat to maintain optimum colour and texture and maximum gorgeousness.
