SURISILK FLUFF: Approximately 50g/328 yards 75/25 baby Suri alpaca/silk. This is a 1-ply heavy laceweight yarn.
These were kettle-dyed a barely-there blush then a pale pink. It’s the base of Crabapple Gambol and Pixie Glints and a little bit of Got Pink? Different bases are pictured to show variations (including KidMoSilk as it looks very similar). Overall it’s a gentle, slightly tonal pink.
Floof, fluff, fuzz - I don’t think there is anything much lighter and softer! Suri alpaca at its loveliest, blended with just enough silk to elevate it to the next level. Use this held together with another base for a fuzzy halo or by itself as a laceweight or even thicker fluffy, unimaginably soft fabric. These do not glow quite like mohair but the softness is unmatched. It's a luxurious blend and a great alternative to KidMoSilk if you don’t play well with mohair.
The texture of this base doesn't allow for distinct speckling, so colourways are more mottled or variegated. Also, it does not gain much size with blocking so please keep that in mind when planning your project. Be gentle when caking.
For a long, gorgeous life gently hand wash your garment in tepid water, shape a little while damp and lay flat to dry.
